Porsche Cayman Sport S 303HP: Official Photos and details

Following an online leak a couple of weeks ago Porsche took the wraps off the limited edition Cayman S Sport that will be produced in just 700 units. Based on the Cayman S, the Sport’s 3.4-liter boxer engine gains an extra 8 HP developing a total of 303 HP. Moreover, the Cayman S Sport comes equipped with the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system as standard along with a 10mm lower suspension and 5mm spacers beneath the new 19-inch SportDesign wheels.

On the outside Porsche was inspired from the 911 GT3 as the Cayman S Sport comes as standard in the GT3 colours Orange and Green combined with side decals and black rims, exterior mirrors and air intake grids. Further colours available are Black, Indian Red, Speed Yellow and Carrara White, as well as Arctic Silver Metallic. -Continued

Inside the Sport features an all-black interior with sport seats and alcantara finish on the gearshift lever, the handbrake, and the rim of the GT3 steering wheel. As with all Porsche special edition versions, the Sport bears the production number on a placard on the glove box.

The Cayman S Sport will be available from September with prices in Germany set at €69,942 which includes 19 per cent VAT and national specifications.

Porsche Cayman S 314 Hp Tuned by Inden Design

While we’re still waiting for Porsche to officially reveal the more powerful Cayman S Sport, the German tuning firm “Inden Design” presented a new sports kit for the Cayman S model. Thanks to a new exhaust system, the Cayman S 3.4-liter boxer engine’s output is raised by 19Hp delivering a total of 314 Hp. According to Inden Design, the flaps of the exhaust systems are operated together with a control unit. A small microprocessor, which is freely programmable, is embedded in this system. The sports kit also includes new H&R height adjustable coil overs and a set of bespoke 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/35 R19 rubber on the front and 305/25 R19 at the rear. -Photo gallery after the jump

New Porsche Cayman S Sport with 303 Hp

The first official image of the forthcoming Porsche Cayman S Sport has been leaked into the net. Details are scarce for now but it is said that the Cayman S Sport will get an extra 8Hp raising total output to 303 Hp along with the Porsche Active Stability Management system and a 10mm lower suspension. -Continued

In terms of styling, it is evident that the new Porsche Cayman S Sport’s orange / black theme was inspired from the 911 GT3 RS (check out the picture below). From what we gather it won’t be long before Porsche reveals all the official details on the Cayman S Sport model, so stay tuned.

Porsche Cayman Facelift Fan Renderings

A talented member of the Caymanclub forum named “K-Man S” came up with these pretty convincing digital renderings of the forthcoming Cayman S facelift model that’s expected to be introduced sometime in 2009. The styling changes performed by “K-Man S” include new fog lights and Carrera GT inspired head lights up front combined with new tail-lamps and a different design for the lower bumper and exhaust pipes at the rear-end. –More pics after the jump

Porsche to Cooperate with Magna Steyr for Boxster & Cayman Assembly

In a statement issued today, Porsche said that in 2012, it will replace Finnish contract manufacturer Valmet Automotive with the Austrian company Magna Steyr for the production of the mid-engine Boxster and Cayman models.

Holger P. Härter, Deputy Chairman of Porsche SE, commented: “Over the last eleven years, Valmet has built more than 200,000 sports cars of outstanding quality for us. Our decision not to continue our successful cooperation is in no way a vote against Valmet. Rather, it was the high development capacity and competence of our future partner that tipped the balance in favor of our new partner.”
