Second up is the SportLux Venza by Street Image that sports a bodykit and new alloy wheels. Interior modifications include the upgraded black/burgundy leather treatment and an upscale navigation unit that is equipped with a full entertainment system. Furthermore, Street Image says that it will also upgrade the engine as well as the braking and suspension systems.
One of the three Genesis Coupes set to make a splash at Hyundai’s 2008 SEMA show booth in late-November is the so-called “Art of Speed” by Rhys Millen Racing (RMR). Back in July, RMR and Hyundai produced a teaser sketch of the vehicle so we could get a taste of what to expect in The “Art of Speed” that will be based on the base 4-cylinder Genesis Coupe will benefit among other things from a new turbo kit for the 2.0-liter engine which will be matted to a HKS sequential race transmission, sport suspension, larger Brembo brakes, Enkei alloy wheels, an eight-point roll cage and a RMR wide body kit.
For pure obnoxiousness, it’s hard to beat IMSA’s new Murcielago GTR Spyder. As if the crazy orange color combined with the widebodykit consisting of a front apron, front lip, broadened wings, side skirts, carbon diffuser and rear spoiler along with the massive alloy wheels in shiny black color wasn’t enough of a statement in itself, the tuning folks over at IMSA had to perform their magic on the Murcielago’s interior. -ContinuedAnd by magic we mean orange-colored carbon-fiber inserts by the dozen and diamond-shape stitched leather design and seams corresponding to the exterior color of the supercar and of course, to the overall bad taste of the tuning firm’s design team.
Leaving IMSA’s styling solutions aside, the company’s engineers also developed a performance kit for the drop-top Murcielago that raises the V12’s output by means of several mechanical and electronic modifications from 640 to 708 HP. The result of this is that the Murcielago GTR Spyder sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds (0.1 sec faster that the standard model) and goes on to a top speed of over 350 km/k (+218 mph) compared the stock model’s peak speed of about 340 km/h (211 mph).
Claiming to have developed the fastest ever production model in the Spanish automaker’s history, SEAT of The Netherlands introduced a special edition version of the Leon Cupra that packs a whopping 310 ponies under its hood. Based on the standard Cupra, the Dutch upgraded the 240HP 2.0-liter TFSI engine (the same unit is used on the Golf GTI) to develop a total output of 310 HP and a maximum torque of 425 Nm or 315-lbs/ft. -ContinuedAccording to SEAT, the revised Leon Cupra 310 Limited Edition can achieve a top speed of 259 km/h or 161 mph making it the fastest ever production vehicle to wear the SEAT badge. The ‘super’ Cupra which will be built in a limited run of just 100 units, all destined for the Dutch market, also sports black 18-inch Orion alloy wheels and a special badge on the dashboard with the production number of the vehicle. Prices in The Netherlands are set at € 32,995.
The Swabian tuners over at Hamann have developed a new sport package for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster models that includes an aerodynamic kit and various mechanical upgrades. Customers can choose between fiberglass and optionally, matt carbon materials for the body components that comprise a two-piece front spoiler, side skirts, a three-part rear diffuser and a boot lid spoiler. Hamann also offers a functional roof scoop, but unless you’re going for a boy-racer look, we wouldn’t advise it. -Continued
The aero kit is accentuated by a new set of 21-inch three-piece alloy wheels with 245/30ZR21 tires at the front and 295/25ZR21 tires at the back along with a sport suspension that lowers the center of gravity of the V8 Vantage by 30 mm at the front axle and by 20 mm at the rear axle.
For those that would like to match the upgraded looks with more power under the hood, the German tuning firm has retuned the ECU giving the outgoing 2008 Vantage’s 4.3-liter V8 a 23 HP boost to 408 HP and the 2009 model’s 4.7-liter V8 a 30 HP increase to 450 HP. Hamann says that it has also developed new sports exhaust system that adds an extra 20 HP to the overall output of the 2009 model.
