From Russia with Love: Ferrari Four-Door Coupe Study

Ferrari Four-Door Coupe StudyIf we were to follow the norm, we’d say that since Aston Martin, Porsche and quite possibly, Lamborghini, are preparing to introduce a new bunch of sporty four-door coupe models, then it would be only logical that Ferrari would do the same, thus justifying these renderings that were made by a Russian designer called Krasnov Igor. But we won’t. We’ve heard of no such thing as a four-door Ferrari and we seriously doubt that the Prancing horse will ever make a car like this, especially in the presence of Maserati. -Continued

As for the Ferrari four-door coupe proposal, our opinion –and feel free to disagree with us- is that Krasnov will have to try much harder next time as we fail to see anything inspiring or beautiful about this design.

2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider Snapped from Official Video

Ferrari F430 Scuderia SpiderEven though Ferrari has yet to make an official announcement, a low resolution image that was captured from the Italian sports car maker’s official video of the Ferrari California world premier event that took place in Maranello and Los Angeles last week, seems to confirm the rumors that it is readying a track version of F430 Spider. The vehicle appeared only for a few seconds on the background of a Ferrari spokesman but apparently that was more than enough to capture the picture. -Continued

Following in the footsteps of the F430 Scudria, the Spider is expected to go under a strict diet loosing any luxuries associated with the standard model. The drop-top Scuderia will also most likely benefit from a more powerful version of the 4.3-liter V8 engine delivering 510 HP, up from 490 HP, along with a revised F1 gearbox that reduces gear change times to 60 milliseconds. Like its coupe sibling, the F430 Scuderia Spider will be produced in a limited number of units

Photos from the Ferrari California Presentation at Maranello and Los Angeles

Ferraro California PresentationLast night more than 2,000 special guests on both sides of the Atlantic witnessed the world premiere of the new Ferrari California. At the private airport of Santa Monica, where the US-American presentation was held, Ferrari actually auctioned off the first California for a whopping $520,000 with all proceeds going to charity. Such an event in California couldn’t be done without the presence of Conan the Governor aka Arnold Schwarzenegger and of course the usual celebrities including Brittny Gastineau, an actress and model we've never heard about but wouldn't mind getting acquainted with. -Continued

On the other side of the pond, the drop-top California was presented at Maranello in Italy by Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo, together with the Scuderia Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, who drove the car inside the new factory building and of course, Michael Schumacher who was involved in the development of the new GT.

Ferrambo Nash Rambler Wagon Ferrari 360A couple of weeks ago we told you that the brainchild of Mike Warn and Tim Divers of Divers Street Rods, the Ferrambo, was up for sale on GP Imports for an undisclosed price. For those of you wondering what kind of money would get you behind the wheel of this custom made model that combines the body of a 1960 Nash Rambler Wagon with a Ferrari 360 V8 powertrain, we can now inform you that you’ll need more than $500,000 or €352,000 to sit your buttocks on its leather seats. -Continued

Ferrambo Nash Rambler Wagon Ferrari 360How do we know? Well, GP Imports has enlisted the Ferrambo on eBay and the first bid, $500,000, hasn’t met reserve. In eBay terminology, a reserve price is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for the item. There’s still six days left before the deadline on September 21, so we’ll keep a close eye on the bidding to see if the there’s someone out there willing to offer more than half a million dollars to obtain this one-off vehicle. Until then, leave us a comment telling us how much money do you think the Ferrambo is worth.

Ferrambo: Ferrari Powered 1960 Rambler Wagon up for Sale

Ferrambo 1960 Nash Rabmbler Wagon with Ferrar 360 V8Remember the custom-made 1960 Nash Rambler Wagon with the Ferrari 360 drivetrain that we first told you about a year ago (see here)? Well, after grabbing this year's desirable Riddler street rod award at the 2008 Detroit Autorama, the owners of the car, Tim Divers from Divers Street Rods and Mike Warn, decided to depart with the Ferrambo and put it up for sale on GP Imports. Although there’s no specific asking price, we gather that this one-of-a-kind street rod isn’t won’t come cheap. -Continued

The Ferrambo was created by combining a custom-made body from 1960 Nash Rambler Wagon with a rear-mounted 3.6-liter V8 engine matted to a 6-speed manual gearbox that came out of a 2002 Ferrari 360 Modena Donor car. Tim Divers and Mike Warn also completely overhauled the Rambler’s interior giving it a Ferrari-look. Other modifications include the Ferrari Unequal Wishbone front and rear suspension, the one-off machined 18x8.5 front and 20x10 rear wheels and an ultra cool custom luggage style trunk under the hood.
