IMSA Lamborghini Murcielago GTR Spyder

For pure obnoxiousness, it’s hard to beat IMSA’s new Murcielago GTR Spyder. As if the crazy orange color combined with the widebodykit consisting of a front apron, front lip, broadened wings, side skirts, carbon diffuser and rear spoiler along with the massive alloy wheels in shiny black color wasn’t enough of a statement in itself, the tuning folks over at IMSA had to perform their magic on the Murcielago’s interior. -Continued

And by magic we mean orange-colored carbon-fiber inserts by the dozen and diamond-shape stitched leather design and seams corresponding to the exterior color of the supercar and of course, to the overall bad taste of the tuning firm’s design team.

Leaving IMSA’s styling solutions aside, the company’s engineers also developed a performance kit for the drop-top Murcielago that raises the V12’s output by means of several mechanical and electronic modifications from 640 to 708 HP. The result of this is that the Murcielago GTR Spyder sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds (0.1 sec faster that the standard model) and goes on to a top speed of over 350 km/k (+218 mph) compared the stock model’s peak speed of about 340 km/h (211 mph).

Chromed Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 by Hamann for Sale

A fully chromed –ok, it’s not real chrome just chrome paint- Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 pimped by the German tuning firm Hamann has been put up for sale by the London based luxury car dealer ‘Mayfair Prestige’. Even though we think it’s a terrible idea to begin with, the folks at the British used car lot actually believe that they can fetch a whopping £340,000 (about $625,200 / €426,500 with the current exchange rates), for the shiny Lambo. Some folks in Japan – or at least we think it’s in Japan, if not feel free to correct us- drag raced a Nissan GT-R against the almighty Lamborghini Murcielago. We won’t tell you who crossed the finish line first, but we must mention that the two supercars weren’t drag raced from standstill but from a running start. -Video after the jump

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster by VERSACE

Following the Murcielago LP640 (Coupe) Versace that was introduced in 2006, Lamborghini and Versace have joined forces once again to create yet another special edition, this time based on the Murcielago LP 640 Roadster.

The new limited edition Murciélago LP 640 Roadster VERSACE, which will be produced to order, displays a pastel white livery and the Versace Greek key motifs on the lower part of the door and the front end of the car. Another key element of the roadster’s exterior is the transparent engine hood. Take a look inside and you’ll find white nappa leather bucket seats hand-embroidered with the Versace Greek fret motif.

The special edition Murcielago LP640 Roadster also inspired the Italian fashion house to create a new range of accessories that will be available at Versace Boutiques and selected Lamborghini showrooms beginning in November 2008. -Continued .

Hand crafted in black matte calf skin, Versace’s range include: a trolley bag, suit carrier, sports bag, as well as a briefcase, suitcase, gloves, driving shoes, belt, wallet, key ring, beauty case, hat and a pair of jeans.

Gianni Versace’s CEO Giancarlo Di Risio emphasised: “This new supercar and the exclusive Collection LP640 represent a natural evolution of excellence for both Versace and Lamborghini through the creation of these unique, one-of-a-kind projects.”
